Meet our culinary Crew and Chef

Your Wedding Reception is much more than just a great room at VBTS. These days, your guests want extraordinary food in a unique and interesting presentation. To be sure you and your guests get just that, all of our events are exclusively catered by Dick Varano and his Executive Chef Stephen Ogden.

Dick is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, class of 1979. This gave him a solid foundation and launching point for his career. Dick has been executive chef in resorts with multiple kitchens, run an Italian restaurant in Boston’s North End, as well as several high volume and gourmet restaurants in Maine.

Chef Stephen Ogden is also a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America and has over twenty years of restaurant and catering experience working in California, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New York City. He has a passion for classic European cuisine. Chef Ogden has received numerous awards and been featured in magazine and newspaper articles, as well as on local television. He is dedicated to the culinary field and has worked with students in local culinary programs. Originally from Southern California, Chef Steve resides in Wells with his wife and two children.
